OLDARPOI MARA CAMP

Oldarpoi, is a unique community owned and operated safari camp in the Masai Mara, the only one of its kind in this game Reserve.

Oldarpoi Mara Community Camp, is solely owned by the local Masai community and aims to bring transformational development - socially and economically - to the Masai communities, turning them into self-reliant and self-sustaining communities, through profitable Eco-tourism activities.

The safari camp employs simple elegance themed on the Masai culture to provide high standard hospitality in the wild Savannah of the Masai Mara.

'Oldarpoi', Maa language for a Sausage tree (Kugelia Africana), is the tree used for making the local traditional brews.

OLDARPOI CAMP LOCATION

The camp is nestled under huge sausage trees on 50 acres of land at the base of the Naunerri Hills with spectacular views of the Masai valley. The camp is only 2 km or 5 min drive to Sekenani Main Gate, Masai Mara.

OLDARPOI CAMP BENEFITS TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Sixty percent of the revenues generated from the camp goes directly to the local community.
The money is used to build a center for girls at risk from FGM, build a community educational resource center, expand Ole-Keene primary school, water and sanitation, community health and supporting the local Masai women by providing a market for their bead work and other crafts.

The girls Rescue center which is fully funded by Oldarpoi camp is near completion and it's situated close to the camp.

OLDARPOI CAMP UNIQUE SERVICE

Most of our guests find it worthwhile to visit the girls center, volunteer there and even in giving financial support through donations.

Guests to Oldarpoi camp, therefore has a rewarding experience mixing safari encounters with noble community projects.
