The light, airy and spacious tents are furnished in the traditional ‘safari’ style with unbeatable sunsets over the mountains of Congo, in the gathering darkness fishermen’s lanterns light up across the lake, mirroring the stars above. Candlelit dinners are served either on the beach, or in our dining area, to the unique sounds of Africa; beetles, crickets and the night calls of chimpanzees. The perfect way to relax after a perfect day! As well as being famous for chimpanzee tracking, this part of Lake Tanganyika offers some of the best fresh water fishing in Tanzania, here you can catch ‘Sangara’ (Nile Perch), ‘Kuhe’ (Yellow Belly) to name just a few.

Our property boasts Luxury Beach Chalets, Lawn Bandas and a well appointed campsite.  We also offer Fly camping along the pristine beaches in luxury tents and tented accommodation in the nearby Katavi National Park.

Katavi Plains National Park is universally recognized as one of the few truly remote and untouched areas of Tanzania’s immense conservation areas. This is primarily due to its position in the far south west of the country and the associated cost and time involved in reaching the park. For those who do take the time to visit, an unforgettable safari awaits them. Katavi Wildlife Camp is set back amongst the tress fringing the Kitasunga Plain. Just close by a daily parade of animals pass in front of the camp on their way to drink. The camp has just 8 well placed tents built onto wooden platforms and shaded by an extended thatch roof. The bar Lounge has perfect views out across the plain where many lion kills are witnessed as there is a resident pride of lion close by.
